I had the BEST plans for this Independence Day weekend. I decided last year to take the weekend off as a little mid-summer respite. My son, husband, and I would take the long trek out to our in-law’s house and enjoy a fun-filled weekend of swimming, boating, and enjoying good times with family and friends!
What am I really doing this weekend? I’m on the couch, on my back, and dizzily medicated due to a pinched nerve (they think) in my lower back. Vacation plans thwarted. Bleh. :/
So, after I threw my pity party, I decided I’d make good use of this down time and catch up on some of the magazines, online articles, DVR’d shows, and Craftsy classes I’d been collecting (aka hoarding) these past few cake-filled months.
On the DVR I’m catching up on CBS Sunday Morning, Cook’s Country, Anthony Bourdain Parts Unknown, Martha Bakes, and Julia & Jacques Cooking at Home. My magazine backlog includes Real Simple, Brides, and more Martha – Living and Weddings. Hmmm, food and weddings, time to broaden my horizons, maybe? Lol!
My collection of unwatched Craftsy classes is probably too (embarrassingly) long to list. Here are just a few that I’ll be catching up on this weekend. And, of course, with discounted links! Hey, if I’m laid-up, might as well share some love with my friends!
I hope you’re all happy and healthy this holiday weekend! Have a cold one and a hamburger for me. 🙂
